The three major types of hairs associated with the integumentary
system are:
Vellus hairs—These are the “peach fuzz” hairs found over
much of the body.
Terminal hairs—The thick, more deeply pigmented, and sometimes
curly hairs that include the hair on the head, eyelashes, eyebrows, and pubic
hair.
Intermediate hairs—Those hairs that change in their distribution
and include the hair on the arms and legs.
