What is an example of a “negative feedback” to maintain homeostasis?

Maintaining the normal blood sugar level of the body is an example of negative feedback. When the blood sugar level decreases, the body responds to raise the level. If the blood sugar level increases, the body acts to lower the level. Each of these responses is a negative action, since the response does the opposite of the initial stimulus.
