Who was the first individual to culture epidermal cells?

In 1974 Dr. Howard Green of Harvard Medical School discovered the conditions under which the epidermal cells could be grown in the laboratory. The epidermis is especially suitable for growth in laboratory glassware, since it consists of one type of cell—epidermal cells.
