What other structures are found in the dermis?

Some of the structures in the dermis include:
Hair—The hair root is in the dermis layer and the shaft is above the surface of the skin.
Oil glands—Also known as sebaceous glands, these glands secrete an oily substance that moistens and softens skin and hair.
Sweat glands—These help regulate body temperature.
Blood vessels—They are responsible for supplying the epidermis and dermis with nutrients and removing wastes.
Nerve endings—These provide information about the external environment.
